The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, experienced one of the most emotional moments of recent days after personally meeting José, a father from Córdoba whose son passed away in October 2024 due to what is known as “butterfly skin”.

The father, a native of Córdoba, recounted that his son passed away on October 24, 2024, coinciding with the day of San Rafael and just a few days before they could evaluate new medical options. Even so, he wanted to highlight the work of associations and those who continue to research to improve the quality of life of people with butterfly skin.
The conversation ended with an embrace between the two that moved even the Andalusian president himself. “It has given me a lot of strength to meet you”, José confessed to Moreno during the meeting seconds before thanking him for his work with the treatment for the disease.
Hours later, the leader published a message on Instagram accompanied by images of the moment: “Yesterday's call moved us all and today I was able to give him a hug. José, thank you for having fought so much for your son, for your tenderness and for continuing to care as you do for the well-being of people with butterfly skin”.

I am glad to have met José in Córdoba. A good man who has dedicated his life to caring for his son with butterfly skin.
In #Andalucía there are many beautiful stories. 💚 https://t.co/WNIaURSr6U pic.twitter.com/N44mnOuwbZ
