The president of Andalusia Juanma Moreno achieves a large increase in the number of VPO since his arrival in office

Andalusia has quadrupled the number of protected homes since 2019 compared to the two previous legislatures, with more than 16,500 underway or delivered, highlighting the offer presented in the province of Seville, where the construction of nearly 7,250 protected homes has been promoted during this period. The president of the Junta de Andalucía Juanma Moreno highlighted this during the handover of keys for 137 homes intended for social rent for a minimum period of 50 years, located in the Bellavista-La Palmera district of the Sevillian capital, being one of the areas of the city that is achieving the greatest expansion in recent years.

"Here you and your children will be able to put down roots. Fortunately, for the families and people present here, this has ceased to be a problem. Because you are going to move into modern and energy-efficient homes, with garages and storage rooms, and most importantly: with rental conditions adjusted to your financial reality," Moreno highlighted. 40 percent of the financing for the construction of this development has been managed or provided by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Plan Vive in Andalusia, which includes state and autonomous administration funding.

The leader of the PP in Andalusia continued by saying: "The right to housing is a matter of State. This requires a step forward from all of us who have public responsibility. For my part, I am willing to take that urgent and necessary step. And I hope to find the same response at all jurisdictional levels. We must show vision." In addition, he emphasized the impact that the second phase of the Plan Vive will have, which will allow the promotion of 20,000 new protected homes in the next five years at affordable prices throughout Andalusia, in addition to the rehabilitation of another 22,000 properties. "We are talking about a very powerful boost, but it must have the accompaniment of the rest of the administrations. We are offering municipalities all kinds of facilities to make as much land as possible available for housing construction. A line initiated by the Decree-Law on urgent measures in housing matters and on which the Andalusian Housing Law insists. Only with the entry into force of the Decree-Law has protected housing been boosted by 44 percent more in the community," Moreno detailed on this issue.

Similarly, aid to families and young people to acquire their first home has been increased with a mortgage guarantee from which some 2,900 Andalusians have already benefited, as well as fiscal measures that have helped another 250,000, with savings of some 460 million euros. In addition, tax benefits for rent have been extended to young people under 35, over 65, and victims of gender violence and terrorism. Looking ahead to the next Legislature, the objective set by the Andalusian Government is to further reinforce aid, offering various solutions for some 200,000 Andalusians, especially for young people.
