The President of the Parliament of Andalusia, Ana Mestre, shows her solidarity with Ceuta: she will raise the Ceuta flag in the Chamber on September 2

The Parliament of Andalusia will show its solidarity with the people of Ceuta next September 2 with a symbolic gesture: the flag of the autonomous city will be waved by the President of the Chamber, Ana Mestre, during that day. The selected date coincides with the city's day and with the call for the demonstration that aims to bring together citizens from all localities of Spain, under the slogan: "All Spain for Ceuta". Thus, Andalusia will show its support for the territory governed by Juan Jesús Vivas, which is going through a migratory crisis.

The initiative will be formally communicated by Mestre to the Permanent Deputation Board during the meeting that this body is scheduled to hold this Thursday, August 27. In this way, the Andalusian autonomous Chamber will incorporate the Ceuta flag on its facade coinciding with a significant date for the city.

"I can only show my support for the Government of Ceuta"

The massive entry of people into the autonomous city of Ceuta completes 27 days this Wednesday. However, since the beginning of the crisis, Ana Mestre already expressed her "solidarity." In an interview she granted to the news agency 'Europa Press', she stated that she hoped that the responsible governments "reach the necessary understanding that appeases this social unrest."

"I can only show my support for the Government of Ceuta. I undoubtedly sympathize with the different situations that are being experienced, which are in many cases disturbing and dramatic," the President of Parliament concluded. Finally, she wished that "normality arrives as soon as possible" in Ceuta.

Juanma Moreno brings Andalusia's support to Ceuta

The President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, became the first regional president to travel to Ceuta to meet with President Juan Jesús Vivas after the massive entry of migrants from Morocco between July 30 and 31. Thus, Moreno conveyed the solidarity and support of Andalusia to the autonomous city.

"Andalusia is a sister and allied land for Ceuta to recover normality. We are going to leverage with the people of Ceuta so that all Administrations put the necessary means to solve the situation generated by the avalanche at the end of July," he stated in the appearance after the meeting with Vivas.

Likewise, he explained that the situation Ceuta is going through is "intolerable" and for this reason, he was going to bring the migratory crisis in Spanish territory to the Plenary Session of the European Committee of Regions and Cities. "Ceuta has to be in the heart of Europe," Moreno stated. "The Government of Spain and the European Commission have said something I agree with, that each and every one of the migrants has to return to their point of origin and, therefore, has to leave the city of Ceuta. That is the objective and there is no other," continued the president of Andalusia.

The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, traveled a week ago to Ceuta to meet with the president of the autonomous city, Juan Jesús Vivas, three weeks after the massive entry of people into the territory through the Morocco border. Likewise, Moreno met with representatives of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs and the Chamber of Commerce of Ceuta.
