The president of the Junta de Castilla y León and candidate of the Popular Party, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, has confirmed that will not participate in the electoral debate scheduled on RTVE. The decision comes in the midst of the electoral pre-campaign and alters the scenario planned for the public contrast of proposals.
From the PP's circle it is argued that the proposed format does not meet the conditions they consider adequate, defending other debate models or spaces that, in their opinion, guarantee greater balance and plurality.
For his part, the socialist candidate, Carlos Martínez, has reiterated his willingness to attend the debate on the public broadcaster, insisting on the need to directly confront the projects before the citizenry.
