The defense of Jonathan Andic has escalated its tone against the investigation into the death of his father, businessman Isak Andic. Francisco Marco, a private detective from the Método 3 agency and collaborator of the businessman's legal team, has publicly accused the Mossos d’Esquadra of having built an investigation oriented from the beginning to incriminate the son of the founder of Mango.

In an interview granted to 'El Món a RAC1', Marco assured that one of the commanders responsible for the investigation would have promoted a real "manhunt" against Jonathan Andic, focusing his efforts on finding evidence that would reinforce a previously defined hypothesis of guilt. According to the defense, several of the clues used during the investigation present inconsistencies or have been partially interpreted.

The fall of Isak Andic, at the center of the controversy

One of the most controversial points remains the fall that ended Isak Andic's life. The defense maintains that Jonathan was walking several meters ahead of his father when the accident occurred and that he did not witness the exact moment of the fall. To support this version, he claims to have technical reports and recreations made with drones that indicate that the businessman was out of his field of vision.

Furthermore, Marco has criticized that some testimonies he considers relevant were not incorporated into the procedure. Among them, that of two hikers who found Jonathan Andic shortly after the event and who, according to their account, saw him completely distraught, crying and constantly repeating references to his father. The detective considers it striking that these people were not called to testify while testimonies were taken from people linked to the family's business environment.

The businessman's health and doubts about the accident

Another argument put forward by the defense revolves around Isak Andic's physical condition. According to Marco, the businessman suffered from mobility problems derived from osteoarthritis and had needed various medical treatments to alleviate the pain he suffered. The defense maintains that these circumstances could explain some movements observed during the accident and support the hypothesis of an accidental fall.

Jonathan Andic's mobile phone has also become one of the elements of debate within the investigation. The Mossos recently stated that the device the businessman claimed to have lost during a trip to Quito never registered activity in Ecuador nor reconnected later. In response, Marco assures that there are records that would show that communications were indeed made from Ecuadorian territory, so he rejects any suspicion related to that terminal.

The defense also questions the validity of a fingerprint located in the area where the accident occurred. According to the detective, irregularities could have occurred in the preservation of the scene, compromising the chain of custody of evidence that has been considered relevant during the judicial investigation. In his opinion, these deficiencies would directly affect the reliability of the conclusions drawn by the investigators.

The messages between father and son

Another open front has to do with the relationship between father and son. The judge has indicated in her resolutions that some messages recovered from Isak Andic's phone would reflect family tensions, resentment, and conflicts related to economic issues. However, Jonathan Andic's lawyers reject that interpretation and maintain that the conversations have been analyzed out of context. To dismantle that thesis, the defense is compiling documentation on family trips, recent encounters, and the therapy that both had started to improve their relationship.

Finally, Jonathan Andic's entourage has expressed their discomfort with the way his arrest occurred. Francisco Marco has especially criticized the dissemination of images of the businessman handcuffed and the public transfers between police and judicial facilities, considering that they contributed to generating an image of guilt before there is a firm resolution on the case. While the investigation remains open, the defense's strategy now involves discrediting the main evidence that supports the suspicions against the son of the founder of Mango.
