The Government prepares the replacement of the Government delegate in Ceuta after the migratory crisis: the former mayor of El Puerto de Santa María will be his substitute

La Moncloa is preparing the departure of the Government delegate in Ceuta, Miguel Ángel Pérez Triano, and his replacement by David de la Encina, former mayor of El Puerto de Santa María, leader of the PSOE of Cádiz and born in the autonomous city. The information, advanced this Monday by Cadena SER, indicates that the replacement will take place in the coming days and that it will be the Council of Ministers who will formalize it.

Socialist sources from both the regional and federal leadership have confirmed to SER that Pérez Triano's departure is imminent and that the final details of his successor's appointment are already being finalized. The Executive does not rule out that the change could be approved this Tuesday. However, according to the media, La Moncloa's intention is for the delegate himself to first communicate his departure.

The CNI's warning and the departure of his chief of staff

Following the publication of documents by the Government regarding communications from the National Intelligence Center. One day before the massive entry, a CNI member transferred information to a member of the Delegation about calls disseminated on social networks to irregularly access Ceuta.

Pérez Triano publicly maintained that he had not received that warning from his chief of staff. However, Gonzalo Sanz, then head of his cabinet, submitted his resignation and defended that he had indeed communicated to the delegate the information he had received from the CNI on July 29.

In his resignation, Sanz justified his decision by the "evident incompatibility" between his version and the delegate's public statements. The chief of staff's departure occurred after Pérez Triano stated that he was unaware of the messages and calls received from the CNI.

The delegate's replacement also occurs while the Audiencia Nacional investigates the circumstances of the massive entry into Ceuta. Judge María Tardón has taken over the investigation and the case related to the complaints filed against Pérez Triano has been referred from the courts of the autonomous city to the Audiencia Nacional, considering that the events could be connected. This week, Tardón plans to take statements as witnesses from the former chief of staff of the Government delegate and the president of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, as part of the proceedings opened regarding the management of the crisis.
