The cameras of TVE's 'Mañaneros 360' have captured the coldness between Isabel Díaz Ayuso and one of her most trusted men amidst the scandal over the luxury penthouse in Chamberí. The Madrid president left her last press conference without even looking at Miguel Ángel García Martín, the counselor to whom she had just transferred the responsibility of explaining the operation.

The TVE program has recovered the moment when Ayuso finishes her speech, turns around and leaves while García Martín remains a few meters away. There was also no gesture between them in a second set of images recorded later outside. "Not even a glance, not a gesture. The contempt was constant," said presenter Javier Ruiz.

The scene occurred this Wednesday in Villa del Prado, one of the municipalities affected by the fires in the Community of Madrid. Asked about the acquisition of the property, the president assured that she lacked information about the procedures carried out and referred all questions to the Ministry of the Presidency.

"Planifica Madrid buys and sells properties throughout the year and on numerous occasions. It is the one who can explain it," Ayuso replied. The popular leader even stated that she had "not the slightest idea" of the details of the operation because "it is not her competence to know it", despite the fact that the penthouse was going to be used as a temporary office for the regional Presidency.

García Martín denies any discomfort

Miguel Ángel García Martín rejected this Thursday that there is discomfort between them and maintained that the explanations about the property have been "amply given". The Minister of the Presidency also accused the opposition of "looking for a ghost" around a purchase that, according to his version, responded to institutional needs.

García Martín presides over the Board of Directors of Planifica Madrid, the public company that acquired the penthouse for 6.3 million euros. He also serves as spokesperson for the regional Executive and has consolidated himself in recent years as one of Ayuso's main political squires, whom he usually accompanies in appearances and official events.

The operation has opened a crisis for the Madrid Government since it came to light. The property, of 485 square meters and located on Paseo del General Martínez Campos, was bought to provisionally house part of the activity of the Presidency during the works of the Real Casa de Correos. Its residential classification prevented it from being used as an office and the regional Executive ended up putting it up for sale.

The president has since tried to distance herself from the decisions adopted by Planifica Madrid. The explanations have now been left in the hands of the same counselor who presides over the public company, while images broadcast by 'Mañaneros 360' show the distance between the two after one of the most uncomfortable appearances of the crisis.
