The Deputy Secretary of Autonomous and Municipal Policy and Electoral Analysis of the PP, Elías Bendodo, has cleared up doubts about whether the PP will participate in the reception of unaccompanied migrant minors who are in Ceuta after the massive entry of people on July 31.
In this regard, the 'popular' politician, in a press conference in Malaga this Thursday, assured that the autonomous governments will comply "with the law." "In the documents signed in the autonomous communities with governments between PP and Vox, it was stated that they will comply with the law on irregular immigration, the current legislation will be complied with, this time too."
On the other hand, he stated: "The Government is the one that has to resolve this situation." He also demanded that "it not pass the buck to the communities" because he stated that "it is a security and immigration problem caused by this Government."
"From the Popular Party, what we say is that all those who have entered illegally, legally have to leave," he concluded, reiterating that the party "will comply with the law."
The Deputy Secretary of Sectoral Coordination of the PP, Alma Ezcurra, also distanced herself this Wednesday from Vox's opposing discourse, stating that, "Mr. Abascal is free to express his opinions and political ideas as he deems appropriate. We do not express ourselves in those terms and we will never do so," she remarked in an interview on 'Onda Cero'.
Likewise, Ezcurra appealed that the solution involves "complying with the law," which, as she explained, contemplates mechanisms to address this situation. Among them, she cited the reunification of minors with their families or their delivery to the social services of their countries of origin. "We believe that we must follow the steps, we believe that we must comply with the law, and the law provides mechanisms to resolve this crisis," she maintained.
