The Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, has reacted on X to the announcement of the first book by the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, with a play on words about the title of the memoirs itself. Ayuso will publish her first book, titled ‘Íntimo’, on December 2, and Puente has used the cover to modify it twice.

In the first image shared by the minister, Puente replaces the word ‘Íntimo’ with ‘Ático’, keeping the rest of the elements of the original cover. Subsequently, he shared a second version in which he changed the title to ‘Timo’.

Puente's reaction comes after it was revealed that Ayuso is making her debut in the publishing world with an autobiographical work in which she reviews episodes of her personal and political life and the experiences that, according to the book's presentation, have contributed to shaping her ideology.

Puente's play with Ayuso's 'Íntimo'

The minister's message thus uses two words that maintain a phonetic resemblance to the title chosen by the Madrid president. First, 'Ático' (Penthouse), in reference to the luxury property acquired this year by a public company of the Community of Madrid. Then, 'Timo' (Scam), as a second modification of the cover disseminated on social media.

Ayuso's book, edited by Planeta, will be released on December 2. The work collects stories and anecdotes from her personal and political career, from childhood memories to different episodes of her institutional career. The editorial presentation itself indicates that the Madrid president reflects on the experiences that have contributed to shaping her political ideas.

Among the personal matters addressed by the president are her childhood in Madrid and her ties to Sotillo de la Adrada, a town in Ávila where she spent holiday periods with her grandparents. She also recounts different stages of her political career and events that have marked her path.

The reference to the luxury penthouse of the Community of Madrid

The first modification made by Puente directly connects with one of the issues that have generated the most controversy around the Madrid president in recent months: the luxury penthouse acquired by the Community of Madrid through Planifica Madrid.

The public company bought the property located in the Chamberí neighborhood of Madrid on April 14 for 6.3 million euros. The property, about 481 square meters and with a large terrace, was acquired by Planifica Madrid, a company dependent on the Community of Madrid.

Initially, the Madrid Executive justified the operation by the need for a temporary space while works were carried out at the Real Casa de Correos, headquarters of the regional Presidency. Subsequently, the documentation published on the operation also included other possible institutional uses, among them the occasional accommodation of authorities.

The property was put up for sale with a starting price of 6.69 million euros, but the first tender was deserted as no offers were received. Planifica Madrid subsequently agreed to keep it for sale. The controversy surrounding the penthouse has also reached the Court of Accounts and the courts. The PSOE of Madrid recently requested that the auditing body investigate the actions of Pedro Corbalán, CEO of Planifica Madrid and one of the people involved in the operation.
