The story of Ayuso's government's attic crumbles: the property seller gives consent to publish details of the 6.3 million purchase

The controversy over the 6.3 million euro penthouse acquired by the Community of Madrid adds a new chapter. The businesswoman and writer Astrid Gil-Casares, owner of the property sold to the Government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has authorized in writing that the details of the operation be made public. This was reported this Friday by 'El País', information that has also been corroborated by David Fernández, Ayuso's unauthorized biographer, on TVE's 'Mañaneros 360' and which had already been advanced by journalist Ernesto Ekaizer.

The seller's permission now opens the door for information about the purchase to be provided by Transparency. Until now, Planifica Madrid, the public company in charge of managing the acquisition, had refused to hand over the file and other documents related to the operation, considering that they affected "third parties" and that their authorization was necessary.

The silence surrounding the operation was linked to a confidentiality agreement that the businesswoman assumed when closing the sale with the Community of Madrid. Now, having expressly authorized the dissemination of the information, the possibility of accessing documentation that until now could not have been delivered by Transparency is opened.

The existence of this agreement had already come to light after the publication of the purchase. Gil-Casares then explained that the agreed conditions prevented her from commenting on "the circumstances of the operation." The businesswoman also distanced herself from the explanation about the use the property would have and stated: "In any case, I completely ignore the intended use of said property."

The requirements that the Community conveyed to find the property

The seller's authorization also comes after the requirements that the Government of the Community of Madrid conveyed to the real estate agency during the search for the space became known. According to information published by 'El País', the community requested: "Between 250 and 400 square meters and a large terrace."

These requirements cast doubt on the narrative of the Ayuso Government, which has defended that the property was acquired to house the Executive's "offices" while the works on the Real Casa de Correos are carried out. The operation, valued at 6.3 million euros and managed through Planifica Madrid, is thus once again under the spotlight while the seller's authorization may allow access to documentation previously reserved.

Meanwhile, Ayuso continues to offer no detailed explanations about the acquisition of the penthouse and, when asked about the controversy, has limited herself to responding: “It's sold. Chao pescao.”
