The Partido Popular of the Region of Murcia gains ground and is on the verge of an absolute majority, according to the Summer 2026 Barometer of the Murcian Center for Public Opinion Studies (CEMOP). The poll gives the popular party 43.1% of the estimated vote and a range of between 21 and 22 deputies, compared to the 23 needed to reach an absolute majority in the Regional Assembly.
The result places Fernando López Miras as the best-rated and most well-known regional leader among the autonomous leaders analyzed by CEMOP. The Murcian president obtains an average rating of 4.7 points out of 10 and reaches a recognition level of 94.1% among those surveyed.
The scenario depicted by the barometer also reflects a wide gap between the PP and the other parties. Vox is positioned as the second force with 25.4% of the votes and 12 seats, while the PSOE is relegated to third position with 17.7% and between 9 and 10 deputies.
The PSOE falls to its worst estimate
The main setback corresponds to the Socialist Party of the Region of Murcia. CEMOP calculates 17.7% of the votes for the party, a figure that would represent its worst result in regional elections in the Region according to the study's estimate. In the 2023 elections, the PSOE obtained 13 representatives, while now the poll attributes between 9 and 10 to it.
Vox, for its part, practically maintains its records from the previous barometer and retains its 12 deputies. With 25.4% of the estimated votes, the party moves into second position ahead of the PSOE.
The study also shows that Podemos-IU-AV would maintain its two representatives with 5.3% of the votes.
The data comes from a survey conducted between September 1 and 17, 2026, with more than 800 telephone and online interviews. The barometer constitutes a snapshot of public opinion during that period and not an electoral result.
