This Monday, a new fire has been declared in Spain. More specifically in the Peñas de Riglos in Huesca, a fire which already affects 3,600 hectares and the number of people evacuated from five population centers (Villalangua, Salinas de Jaca, Ena, Centenero and Arbués) has risen to 170. However, the work of the extinction teams has been positive during this night, due to the fact that on the right flank, the flames have barely advanced with the help of the firebreak. However, the left has opened up to reach in some points the A-132 road between Villalangua and Puente la Reina.

But this morning bad news arrived, as it has been learned that throughout the morning a change of wind to the south is expected, which could favor the advance of the fire at the head. For this reason, from early in the morning, aerial means will begin to be incorporated and the relief of the ground brigades will proceed.

Another terrible fire that is hitting the city of Huelva, more specifically the Niebla region is currently "beyond extinction capacity". This has been recognized by the Minister of Emergencies, Antonio Sanz, who has also said that, "It is a long-distance race full of obstacles that we are having to face with truly complex and dangerous situations."

"A new change of wind, completely destroys the attack strategy, reverses it and we have to divert the troops and complete other strategies. The effects are fire expansion, with an increase in affected areas," said Sanz. This fire has already covered 20,000 hectares, although the burned area is still unknown. This situation has forced the evacuation of several municipalities as a precaution. 479 people are in preventive evacuation. It will be a matter of days of intense work, where right now the safety of firefighters and specialists prevails.

And as for the fire in Navas de San Antonio in Segovia, it is progressing favorably. The residents of Vegas de Matute and Los Ángeles de San Rafael can now return to their homes after being evacuated since Sunday due to the forest fire. The CECOPI agreed this Tuesday morning to lift the evacuation measure after verifying the effectiveness of the work carried out overnight by the INFOCAL operation of the Junta de Castilla y León. With this lifting of protection measures for the population, the Navas de San Antonio fire has reduced its Potential Severity Index from IGR-2 to IGR-1.
