United States President Donald Trump has once again sparked controversy, publishing an AI-generated image on his social network 'Truth Social' simulating his conquest of Greenland and Canada, generating debate and international rejection.
In one of the disseminated montages, Trump appears alongside his vice president J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio planting an American flag over a snowy landscape identified as Greenland, next to a sign with the slogan: “Greenland, United States territory, est. 2026”.
These staged events, to which we have become accustomed, have been disseminated amid diplomatic tension surrounding Greenland, an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark that has become the main target of United States strategic interests in the Arctic. The dissemination of this type of intentionally false images occurs at a time when important international meetings are approaching, such as the World Economic Forum in Davos, where Trump will have to face various European representatives
Trump has repeatedly defended with the media the strategic importance of Greenland. He considers its control and positioning to be essential for national and global security. He constantly emphasizes that the United States remains the leading global power, partly thanks to the reconstruction and modernization of its Armed Forces during his first term, and maintains that only with the country's military strength can stability and international peace be guaranteed
