Apple has introduced one of the most striking renovations of its professional range of computers. The new MacBook Pro incorporates a touch screen for the first time, a change with which the company modifies one of the historical hallmarks of the Mac: the commitment to the keyboard and trackpad versus direct interaction with the fingers. The novelty is accompanied by another surprise for brand followers: the return of the illuminated apple on the lid, an element that disappeared from its laptops during the 2016 design renovation.

The screen is the great protagonist of this new generation. The 14 and 16-inch models debut PROLED XDR technology, based on a tandem OLED panel, with which Apple seeks to improve image quality, brightness, and contrast. Touch control is integrated into the system without eliminating traditional methods of use, so the user can continue working with the keyboard and trackpad or directly use the screen when it is more comfortable.

The company has also adapted the experience to take advantage of this new form of interaction. Touch functions allow gestures and handling of certain elements of applications with the fingers, a possibility especially useful in creative tasks. The change represents a shift in Apple's strategy, which for years had maintained a clear separation between the Mac and the iPad, reserving direct screen interaction for the latter.

But the technological novelty shares prominence with a detail full of nostalgia. The apple lights up again on the lid of the MacBook Pro, recovering one of the most recognizable symbols of Apple laptops. The luminous logo accompanied different generations of MacBooks for years, until the company eliminated it with its 2016 redesigns and replaced it with a metallic version without illumination.

Its return is one of the most striking aesthetic changes of the new equipment, although it does not alter its operation or performance. The illuminated apple had ended up becoming a common image in cafes, universities, and workspaces, and its disappearance was especially remembered by the brand's most loyal users. Ten years later, Apple recovers this visual feature in a generation that also introduces important changes in the screen and in the way the computer is used.

The new MacBook Pro also incorporates Dynamic Island, which arrives for the first time on the company's computers, and the M5 Pro and M5 Max processors. Apple promises a battery life of up to 24 hours and configurations that reach 128 GB of unified memory and 16 TB of storage, features aimed especially at professionals who work with video, design, music production, and other demanding tasks.

In Spain, the new 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 Pro chip starts at 3,349 euros, while the 16-inch model with the same processor starts at 3,949 euros. Orders can already be placed, and the first deliveries are scheduled for November 6. With this renewal, Apple combines a significant transformation in interaction with the Mac with the return of a detail that many users had given up for lost.
