The leadership of Vox has provisionally suspended from membership both the deputy spokesperson of the municipal group in Madrid, Carla Toscano, and councilor Ignacio Ansaldo, in line with the same measure that was applied last week to the party's spokesperson in the City Council, Javier Ortega Smith. The two new suspensions arrive amidst the tension between Ortega Smith and the leadership of Vox. A discomfort that lands in the plenary session of the Consistory next Tuesday. And it is that, he who for now maintains the position of spokesperson, will attend in dissonance with his provisional suspension as a member of the far-right group.
Carla Toscano and Ignacio Ansaldo, who holds the number one membership card of Vox as a founding member, are two supporters of Ortega Smith. This precautionary suspension occurs after both disobeyed the decision of the national leadership of the party to designate Arantxa Cabello as the new spokesperson in the City Council. After this new move, only councilors Arantxa Cabello and Fernando Martínez Vidal would remain as councilors endorsed by the national leadership of Vox to represent the party in the City Council, one day before the next ordinary Plenary Session is held.
