The former Minister of Transport José Luis Ábalos has requested the Supreme Court to postpone for one month the trial in which he is involved, stating that he cannot download the documentation of the Koldo case due to problems with the computer system used to access the case.

According to the brief presented by his defense, the computer program that manages access to the judicial file does not allow completing the download of the summary. This situation, maintains the legal team of the former socialist leader, prevents adequately analyzing the content of the case and preparing the defense strategy.

The request for postponement has been sent to the Supreme Court, in charge of the procedure, which must decide whether or not to grant the requested extension. The defense argues that the volume of documentation is considerable and that the technical failure is hindering access to the necessary files.

The problem centers on the digital system through which the parties to the procedure can consult and download the documents of the judicial process. According to the defense, the program's errors prevent working normally on the material of the investigation.

Now it will be the high court who evaluates if the alleged technical problems justify the temporary suspension of the process or if, on the contrary, it maintains the dates foreseen for the progress of the case.
