Francina Armengol, general secretary of the PSIB-PSOE, escalated the political clash with the PP this Monday by denouncing that the agreement reached by the popular party and Vox in the Senate demonstrates, in her opinion, an “absolute” surrender to the far right.

In statements released by her party, the socialist maintained that “it is very evident” that the PP “no longer disguises” its approach to Vox and summarized her reading of the pact as follows: “they say the same thing, they think the same thing, they vote the same thing, they govern together and now, in addition, they run together”.

Armengol framed what, she said, is decided in the general elections on November 29 as a choice between “advancing, continuing to transform, rights” or “returning to the past”, with a PP surrendered to the far right.

“To the dark Spain and to involution”, she added, as an alternative to the course that, she defended, the progressive bloc wants to maintain.

Defense of the coalition to the Senate and message of absolute mobilization of the left

The socialist leader defended the left-wing electoral coalition to the Senate in the islands, which, she indicated, is formed by the PSIB, MÉS per Mallorca, Sumar and Esquerra Unida, and stressed that the socialists “have done the task that was due”.

In parallel, she celebrated the victory of the current Brazilian president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, in the second round of the presidential elections, which, she said, “has shown that it is possible to beat the polls and pessimism”.

On that idea, she stated: “This is what will happen in Spain with Pedro Sánchez, I am absolutely convinced”.

Finally, Armengol called for “absolute mobilization” of the entire left to “make possible four more years of progressive government” ahead of the November 29 elections, and added that she seeks “a transformative Spain, of colors, of illusion and of hope”.
