The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has strongly criticized the central government's management following the rail accident that occurred in Adamuz, in an interview with Onda Madrid, coinciding with the premiere of its studios for the station's 40th anniversary.

"It's not a matter of seeking justice or revenge, but we all know that those who impose the **code of silence** so that this matter isn't discussed these days are the most benefited because they know that this time they have no one to blame," Ayuso stated, alluding to the central Executive's strategy to **avoid public debates about responsibilities**.

The leader of the Popular Party in Madrid lashed out at the Government's management of railway infrastructure, pointing out that technicians, drivers, and passengers had warned in advance about the condition of the tracks before the accident, and accused it of not investing in something it considers a priority for public transport safety.

"The accident has not only been a blow to the morale of all Spaniards proud of what was their best infrastructure, but also to a public that is seeing that you get on trains without knowing their condition because the government changes its criteria and its technicians' opinions about the state of the tracks every now and then. Those myths that we had the best, the most punctual, the safest network because it was like that are falling apart," he assured.

Ayuso also used the interview to directly criticize Minister Óscar Puente: "he never had the humility to arrive at a ministry and dedicate time to learning and knowing what he was dealing with, but rather has simply dedicated himself to propaganda, to making proposals without any rigor, and to using the Ministry's resources to see who talks about him on social media, which he, in turn, uses only to insult."In addition to demanding explanations from the Government, the Madrid president has announced that she will propose to the **Archdiocese of Madrid** the celebration of a **funeral mass at the Almudena Cathedral** for the victims of the train accidentAyuso has defended that it is "the best tribute that can be paid" to people who, in her words, are "victims of everyone." The intention is for the ceremony to be held "soon," although the specific date will depend on the Archbishopric.“The sadness we feel is shared by all Spaniards, and we want to be close to the families of the injured and the deceased. I don’t think this can be divided among 17 regions as if we were 17 states,” the leader added
