The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has described this Tuesday as a "charade" and "deception" the meeting of the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council (CPFF) held a day earlier, in which the Treasury has proposed to the autonomous communities the path of budgetary stability for 2027. In her opinion, the Government has tried to "convince" the autonomies that there will be General State Budgets "when it does not even have the support of its partners" to move them forward.

During an informative breakfast organized by Nueva Economía Fórum, in which she presented the president of the Madrid Assembly, Enrique Ossorio, Ayuso maintained that the Executive of Pedro Sánchez uses the procedures prior to a budget as a "distraction maneuver" in the face of corruption cases in his environment, and as "propaganda" for the electoral program.

The Madrid president has also accused the Treasury of proposing "unaffordable spending ceilings" to pressure public services under regional management, warning that, in her opinion, the ultimate goal would be to promote, together with the unions, "a hot autumn." This stability path went ahead on Monday in the CPFF thanks to the support of the Treasury and the three communities governed by the PSOE (Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, and Asturias). The representatives of the PP, on the other hand, voted against, considering the fixed objective "irrelevant," an annual deficit of 0.1% of GDP between 2027 and 2029, along with a debt ceiling that stands at 18.9% of GDP in 2027 and progressively decreases to 18.3% in 2028 and 17.7% in 2029.

Likewise, Ayuso has stated that the Government's proposals would mean "financing Catalonia seven times more than Madrid" and "boosting the Catalan Treasury." The PP leader has also dedicated part of her speech to criticizing the president of Congress, Francina Armengol, whom she has accused of "twisting the Regulations" and keeping laws presented by her party "paralyzed," in contrast to what she has defined as the "fair" and "moderate" attitude of Ossorio at the head of the Madrid Assembly.
