The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, lashed out this Thursday in the Plenary Session of the Madrid Assembly against a Government that, she denounced, does not provide "flats for women like Maricarmen", the elderly woman who died this Wednesday after being evicted from her home in Retiro, but rather to "lovers like Jéssica", in allusion to the ex-partner of former minister José Luis Ábalos, Jéssica Rodríguez.
During her speech, the regional leader pointed out that, in one of Maricarmen's last statements, when asked about the responsibility for her eviction, she alluded "with all clarity to Pedro Sánchez", a reference that the Madrid president used to hold the central Executive responsible for the situation.
Ayuso reproaches the Executive for its housing policy
In that context, Isabel Díaz Ayuso ironically stated that "it turns out that she is evicted by a socialist law, that the Government that carries out Maricarmen's eviction is that of Pedro Sánchez, with the National Police, but the fault lies with Ayuso. It's brilliant."
The president of the Community of Madrid also criticized again that the Government has done "nothing" in terms of housing in recent years and maintained that "44% of rental housing has collapsed with Pedro Sánchez". She also stated that "the general secretary of housing spent 100,000 euros on travel" and concluded her speech with a question addressed to the Executive: "But what nerve do you have?".
