After it became known that the Government of Spain is going to hold an extraordinary Council of Ministers with the aim of of approving a plan to address the consequences of the inflation that has caused the Middle East war, the PP spokesperson in the Madrid Assembly, Carlos Díaz-Pache, has criticized the president, Pedro Sánchez, for holding the emergency meeting without having appeared before the Congress of Deputies.

Thus, Díaz-Pache, reproached him: “The first thing the President has to do is go to the Congress of Deputies to explain the plans he has before the representatives of national sovereignty, which is something he has been avoiding for a long time.” Furthermore, he pointed him out for "avoiding giving explanations" when they want to carry out "significant measures"

He also commented on the foreign policy that Pedro Sánchez has developed and maintained that "he has seriously insulted" some "most important allies for decades" and that, "he is changing the foreign policy, not of the Sánchez Government, the position of Spain and Spain has to be a reliable partner for our allies".

Extraordinary Council

The Government of Spain announced this Monday that an extraordinary Council of Ministers will be held this Friday with the aim of approving a plan to address the consequences of inflation caused by the Middle East war. The plan will include measures "structural and conjunctural" and will protect the most vulnerable and the sectors most affected by the rise in prices.

The Government has clarified that it maintains continuous contact with parliamentary groups, social agents, and especially exposed sectors. Furthermore, he has explained that they do not see "necessary" to carry out "the reduction of VAT for food." “We are in a position to approve the package of measures this very week”, he has specified.

In this same vein, the third vice-president of the Government and Minister for Transition, Sara Aagesen, in Brussels, has spoken. "It is a comprehensive response plan and this is very important," she defended.
