The president of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, stated this Tuesday at an informative breakfast of Nueva Economía Fórum that he is afraid of what the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, might be "willing to do" to stay in power. In this regard, he highlighted that what worries him most is the support of the pro-independence partners and their "blackmail". These statements have received the reaction of the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, who through his X account has conveyed: "I understand your terror".
The head of Transport has once again used his social networks to comment on the repeated criticism from the PP towards the judicial cases being investigated that point to personalities who were somehow part of the PSOE. Thus, Puente has written: "Win the elections? I understand your terror. Not even with all the help you are receiving are you convinced that you are going to win".
¿Ganaros las elecciones? Entiendo vuestro terror. Ni con toda la ayuda que estáis recibiendo estáis convencidos de que vayáis a ganar. https://t.co/C6tuqMsrhe

The Popular Party is increasing its pressure against the Executive, demanding that it dissolve the Cortes and call elections. “They thought that the Pope's visit was going to cover up their scandals, but Leo XIV is gone now and they remain in their judicial hell, typical of a rotten government,” Jorge Azcón said in turn.
“Pedro Sánchez is going to do everything he can to cling to power, what is happening in Spain is frightening, the question is what else he can do to stay in power, because no leader in the history of European countries would do what Sánchez does,” the president of Aragon concluded.
The PP redoubles its pressure on the director of the Civil Guard
The Popular Party has redoubled its pressure on the director general of the Civil Guard, Mercedes González, and has again demanded her removal from office after learning of the contacts she has had with Leire Díez. The party has considered these meetings to be incompatible with the institutional responsibility she holds at the head of the armed institute.
The request for resignation came hours before González's appearance in the Senate, where she had to give explanations about the meetings held with the former socialist militant. According to the documentation sent to Judge Santiago Pedraz, the director general has admitted to having held meetings with Leire Díez outside official premises, while investigators have maintained that there have been "at least three meetings".
In this context, the general secretary of the PP, Miguel Tellado, raised the tone before participating in an informative event headed by the president of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, and assured the media that González "cannot continue in her position for a single day more."
The popular leader has also maintained that the director general would have tolerated actions directed against UCO agents and has stated that she is "unworthy of the position" she holds. In his opinion, political responsibilities have also reached those who have supported her continuity at the head of the institution.
Likewise, he has accused the director of having worked "in favor of the mafia, the socialist mafia", statements with which he has linked the meetings held with Leire Díez to a supposed strategy to discredit ongoing investigations.
The general secretary of the PP has gone further and has described González as "a dishonor for the Civil Guard", considering that his meetings have taken place with people who, he has maintained, have conspired against UCO agents, judges, prosecutors, and journalists.
To conclude, Tellado has argued that all these actions have pursued the objective of protecting the President of the Government and obstructing investigations related to alleged cases of corruption. In that sense, he has defined the situation as "crimes to cover up crimes" and "scandals squared".
