The accusations brought in the Kitchen case – Bárcenas' family, PSOE, Podemos, and the State Attorney's Office – will present their definitive conclusions this Thursday before the Audiencia Nacional in a decisive phase of the trial concerning the alleged espionage of former PP treasurer Luis Bárcenas. The session comes after the Prosecutor's Office argued that during the first Mariano Rajoy government, a "criminal parapolice operation" was carried out with the aim of accessing sensitive information that could affect the party and some of its officials in relation to the investigations of the Gürtel plot.

The hearing will continue with the intervention of the State Attorney's Office, which maintains the accusation against former Interior Minister Jorge Fernández Díaz and broadens the focus on Commissioner José Luis Olivera, also included in its indictment. This body acts on behalf of the State's interests, to which the Public Prosecutor's Office attributes a possible economic detriment due to the alleged use of reserved funds to remunerate Bárcenas' former driver, Sergio Ríos, considered a key piece of the investigated plot.

Subsequently, it will be the turn of the private prosecution exercised by Bárcenas himself, his wife Rosalía Iglesias, and his son Guillermo. After partially modifying their initial approach and excluding from their accusation the events related to the kidnapping perpetrated by a false priest, the family has revised the prison sentences they request for the defendants. In their conclusions, they demand 17 and a half years in prison for Fernández Díaz, for the former Secretary of State for Security, and for several police chiefs, including Commissioner José Manuel Villarejo. For Sergio Ríos, the requested sentence is 11 and a half years in prison.

The popular accusations represented by the PSOE and Podemos will close the round of reports. The socialists have slightly reduced the sentences they proposed at the beginning of the procedure, while Podemos has also lowered the sentences requested in their provisional writings, although they maintain significant prison requests for the main defendants.

Before the court can conclude the trial for judgment, the defenses of the eight defendants must still intervene to present their final arguments. Once these presentations are concluded, the accused will have the opportunity to exercise their right to address the court personally in the final word procedure. Among the main defendants are Jorge Fernández Díaz, former commissioner José Manuel Villarejo, and former deputy operational director of the Police Eugenio Pino, all of them being tried in a case that is now facing its final stages before judgment.
