The Prosecutor's Office requests to disqualify the mayor of Alcalá for two and a half years for the police note used to "save" Ayuso

The Madrid Prosecutor's Office requests two years and six months of disqualification for Judith Piquet, the PP mayor of Alcalá de Henares, for the alleged leak of a Local Police note. It requests the same penalty for Raúl Castillo, who at the time managed the mayor's communication. The indictment places the events in the attempt to support statements by Isabel Díaz Ayuso about migrants housed in the city.

It all began on January 17, 2024. After holding an extraordinary Government Council in Alcalá, Ayuso linked sexual assaults to people housed in the municipal reception center and assured that they were being investigated. The Government Delegation in Madrid denied that migrants from the center were under investigation for these events.

That afternoon, according to the Prosecutor's Office's account published by 'elDiario.es', Piquet asked the head of the Local Police for information about a sexual assault reported weeks earlier. The agent handed her a report for the Local Security Board. The mayor photographed it and, when Castillo approached, she showed him the document and told him, always according to the document, that they had to "save the president" and "save the boss". Castillo also took a photograph of it.

The next day, Alfonso Serrano, Ayuso's number two in the PP of Madrid, published an image of the report on X to respond to criticism for the president's words. The note included the description of a possible aggressor provided by a witness and contradicted by others. That description also did not prove that the perpetrator lived in the reception center.

The Prosecutor's Office also requests for Piquet and Castillo 16 months of fine, with a daily fee of 15 euros. Serrano is not among those accused by the Public Prosecutor's Office, which asks to summon him as a witness. Before the judge, the popular leader declared that an unknown person had sent him the report by email and that he had deleted the message.

The PSOE, appearing as a popular accusation, wants an investigation into how Serrano received the document and has requested access to his party, Community of Madrid, and Senate email accounts. The judge already proposed in August that Piquet and Castillo be tried. The mayor denied during the investigation having had access to the report or having leaked it.
