The president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, held a working breakfast this Thursday with the government team of the Community of Madrid, led by Isabel Díaz Ayuso, according to PP sources. The meeting served to align the main strategic priorities of the region and strengthen political coordination between the national leadership of the party and one of its main autonomous strongholds.

During the meeting, Ayuso and the counselors of her Executive conveyed to Feijóo the key needs of the Community of Madrid which, according to them, continue to be ignored by the central Government. In this context, the PP strongly criticized the actions of the Executive of Pedro Sánchez, whom they accuse of maintaining an attitude of “settling of scores” with the people of Madrid for political reasons.

The popular party members maintain that these decisions respond to a PSOE strategy that harms the region due to its lack of electoral support, an argumentative line that both Feijóo and Ayuso have reinforced in recent months. The meeting, according to party sources, consolidates a common discourse against the Government and seeks to project a solid alternative at a national level.

Furthermore, this type of meeting will be replicated in other autonomous communities governed by the Popular Party. The objective is to gather territorial proposals, define shared political priorities and strengthen the strategy of the party both in its opposition work and in the construction of an alternative government project.
