The general secretary of Vox, José María Figaredo has identified as a Vox discourse the intervention of Jon Echeverría, PP candidate for Congress for Gipuzkoa, during his intervention on 'El programa de Ana Rosa'. The representative of the party of Santiago Abascal has reacted after hearing the young popular politician defend the reinforcement of the Ceuta border, including its militarization if necessary.

"I thought he was giving a Vox speech, he was giving the Vox speech", Figaredo stated. The presenter, Ana Rosa Quintana, intervened to clarify Echeverría's political affiliation: "He's from the PP, I'm sorry".

The 22-year-old popular candidate used the term "invasion" to refer to the entry of people into Ceuta and demanded their return to Morocco. "From Spain, we cannot be blackmailed, and in the case of the invasion of Ceuta, we must not hesitate to reinforce the border, militarize it if necessary, and return all the people who have invaded Ceuta and who have entered illegally back to Morocco," he maintained.

Echeverría heads the PP candidacy for Gipuzkoa for the general elections on November 29. His designation places the young leader at the forefront of the popular party's attempt to regain representation for that constituency in Congress.

Óscar Puente ironizes about the exchange

The Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, shared the fragment on his X account and resorted to mockery to comment on Figaredo's reaction.

"What a moment, friends. Pocholin Jon speaks and Pocholo Figaredo intervenes saying 'I thought he was giving the VOX speech'," the socialist leader wrote when disseminating the clip.

Pact between PP and Vox for the Senate

The scene takes place after PP and Vox have agreed to coordinate their candidacies for the Senate for 29N. The understanding affects 23 constituencies and combines withdrawals of lists, incorporation of candidates proposed by Vox and a reduction in the number of candidates from the far-right formation in certain territories.

The PP declines to run in Girona, Tarragona and Gipuzkoa, while Vox withdraws its own candidacies in six territories. In the latter, the popular party will include an independent proposed by Abascal's party. In addition, Vox will present a single candidate in another fourteen provinces.
