The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, committed this Thursday with his counterpart from the autonomous city of Ceuta, Juan Vivas, to promote several collaboration initiatives between both territories, including that of “promoting a regular maritime connection between Ceuta and the port of Malaga to improve connectivity”, a relationship that, as he recalled, already exists through the helicopter.
Moreno made these statements in the appearance after the meeting that both leaders held in the Palacio de San Telmo in Seville, headquarters of the Presidency of the Andalusian Government, where he also raised the possibility of applying 25% discounts on ferry tickets to Ceuta.
Support for Ceuta in a context of migratory crisis
In the current context of crisis in Ceuta, after the massive arrival of immigrants at the end of last July, the Andalusian president wanted to convey to Vivas that “the people of Ceuta know that they are not alone” and that they have the support of Andalusia, a community that he has defined as “sister” of the autonomous city.
During the meeting, Juanma Moreno and Juan Vivas analyzed different initiatives that, as explained by the Andalusian president, will be launched jointly by both administrations.
Andalucía Trade and support for the tourism sector
Among these measures, Moreno also cited the possibility of making the international network of Andalucía Trade available to Ceuta companies, the Junta's foreign promotion agency, which has a presence on five continents, with the aim of facilitating internationalization projects for Ceuta companies.
In addition, the president of the Junta pointed out that “a campaign has been launched on social networks to support the tourist community of Ceuta and Andalusia”, an action that is part of the set of measures shared by both governments.
Finally, Moreno indicated that the Junta is already “studying the formula to apply discounts of 25% on ferry tickets” that connect the autonomous community with the city of Ceuta.
