The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, will meet this Wednesday in Madrid, at the headquarters of the Disenso Foundation, with the secretary general of Vox, Ignacio Garriga, and with the director of the foundation, Jorge Martín Frías, as reported this Monday by the party itself.

During a phone call, the president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, informed the Argentine president that he would not attend the meeting because he would continue that same Wednesday with the planned pre-campaign agenda, with events in A Coruña in the morning and in Avilés in the afternoon.

The Government of Argentina officially confirmed on October 14 that Milei would travel to Madrid this week, in a visit framed in the run-up to the early general elections to be held on November 29.

This is the seventh trip of the Argentine president to Spanish territory since he assumed the Presidency in December 2023, with the aim of supporting right-wing parties in the campaign.

Pedro Sánchez's response on the social network X

The head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, has "welcomed" the Argentine president, Javier Milei, on his visit this Wednesday to Madrid, and has claimed his pride in being "left-handed."

In a message published on the social network X, Sánchez stated that he is proud to be "left-handed" and "with great honor," in response to Milei's criticisms of left-wing political leaders.

"There are those who believe they insult us by calling us left-handed (zurdos or zurdas)," the Spanish president emphasized, going on to list government measures on pensions, minimum wage increases, family reconciliation, abortion, and the defense of peace against war, in contrast to the policies promoted by the Argentine leader.

The PSOE also displays a banner in Ferraz

The PSOE has also unfurled a banner at its national headquarters on Ferraz street to welcome the Argentine president. "Hello, Milei. The leftists welcome you to Spain, the country that is growing the most in Europe," reads the text.
