The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, has accused the PP of showing "insensitivity", "incapacity to understand the problem" and "human wickedness" in the face of the case of Maricarmen, the 87-year-old woman evicted in Madrid a couple of weeks ago from the rented home she lived in and who died this Tuesday.

In an interview on 'Cadena SER', Puente compared the attitude of the popular party after 11-M with the current one, in reference to the party's refusal to observe a minute of silence for Maricarmen's death.

"They are showing the same insensitivity, the same inability to understand the problem and for me, the most serious of all, they are demonstrating wickedness, human wickedness," the minister explained.

Criticism of Feijóo for the accusation of emotional manipulation

Regarding the reproach made this Thursday by the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, to the Government, whom he accused of emotionally manipulating citizens with the Maricarmen case, Óscar Puente replied that "if there is anyone expert in victim manipulation" it is "the right".

The head of Transport also accused the popular party of "using pain" and insisted that Alberto Núñez Feijóo is "clearly" thinking about what he would do "if he were on the other side, which is to manipulate the victim to the point of nausea".

The video about his fall and the denunciation of a mockery of pain

Puente also referred to the video disseminated on social networks by the PP, in which he is seen falling to the ground and screaming in pain after breaking a leg when he was mayor of Valladolid. The minister pointed out that this dissemination is a "portrait of what they are and how they are" in the party.

In that context, he stated that "laughing at another person's physical pain" falls within the concept of "wickedness" and added that what worries him is that these attitudes end up being transferred later "to the school playground".

Asked about the popular party's defense of the video, arguing that it was a response to the minister's way of communicating on social networks, Óscar Puente described that justification as "terrible" and "tremendous", and recalled that that fall caused him to have "a shattered leg" and subsequently undergo three operations.
