The Government of Spain has agreed to the declassification of 153 documentary units, which represents around 23% of the total documentation located so far within the framework of the archive review process. The decision is part of an initiative aimed at strengthening institutional transparency and facilitating access to historical information that until now remained subject to different levels of secrecy.
According to what the Executive has informed, the measure affects only those documents whose disclosure does not compromise State security or other sensitive interests. The analysis process remains open and it is not ruled out that new units may be reviewed in later phases, once the corresponding technical and legal evaluations have been completed.
