The spokesperson for ERC in Congress, Gabriel Rufián, issued a warning this Wednesday to Frente Amplio after the statements by its head of list for Madrid, Emilio Delgado, regarding possible adjustments in candidacies for the legislative elections on November 29. Rufián has maintained that the possibility of the left-wing coalition agreeing not to run in some provinces in exchange for including candidates on PSOE lists for Congress would be "just the opposite" of the idea of "optimizing and maximizing results."
The ERC deputy's reaction comes after Emilio Delgado revealed that there are negotiations with the PSOE to "optimize" and "maximize" results in Congress, a path that, he explained, could include changes in the presence of candidates in certain provinces.
A message on X with reference to the vote offer
In a message posted on his X account, Gabriel Rufián reminded Frente Amplio that "it must be understood that there are many left-wing people perfectly aware of what is coming" and who, "for whatever reason," do not want to vote for the PSOE.
"'Optimizing and maximizing results' is giving them an alternative voting option," Rufián wrote, paraphrasing Emilio Delgado, before insisting that "integrating into the PSOE is just the opposite."

Coalition already closed in the Senate
For the moment, the PSOE and Frente Amplio have already closed an agreement to run in a coalition in the Senate, except in Catalonia, Balearic Islands and Canary Islands. However, Frente Amplio has wanted to make it clear that conversations with the socialists are limited, for now, to the formation of coalition lists for the Senate, and not for the Congress.
In that context, Gabriel Rufián has stressed that he will integrate Podemos candidates as independents in the lists he heads, while warning Frente Amplio that there is a left-wing electorate looking for an alternative to the PSOE on the ballots of November 29.
