This Tuesday, the Sumar party has criticized the "misogyny" of judge Juan Carlos Peinado towards Begoña Gómez, wife of the President of the Government Pedro Sánchez, after asking her to justify that she only traveled to her daughter's graduation, while the PSOE has suggested that he be judged for his "harassment."

Patxi López, spokesperson for the PSOE in Congress, said today before the plenary session: "The only objective he has is the harassment of Begoña Gómez and, therefore, that is not typical of a judge, but rather of someone who should sit before a judge." These words are in relation to the request that Judge Peinado made on Monday to Gómez to justify that she used the passport that was withdrawn as a precautionary measure solely to travel to London to attend her daughter's graduation, since the one she personally handed in at the courts has no stamps.

Also, the Minister of Culture and spokesperson for Movimiento Sumar, Ernest Urtasun, has indicated that this decision is "absolutely regrettable, out of place and an attack on the president's inner circle by attacking his wife." The spokesperson for Sumar in Congress, Verónica Martínez Barbero, went further in a press conference in the Lower House by directly accusing Judge Peinado of "misogyny" and "machismo."

In the same vein, deputy Alberto Ibáñez, from Compromís, considers Peinado's decision to be "a completely disproportionate act that denotes hatred and political and gender violence." And finally, the ERC spokesperson in Congress, Gabriel Rufián, considers it a case of "lawfare 101" and the leader of Podemos, Ione Belarra, has described Peinado's decisions as "totally questionable."
