Sumar reproaches Sánchez for not criticizing Morocco and accuses him of "lack of empathy" with the population of Ceuta and with migrants

Verónica Martínez Barbero, co-general coordinator of Movimiento Sumar and spokesperson in Congress, has reproached the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, for not having criticism for Morocco after the entire migratory crisis that Ceuta is going through, appreciating a "lack of empathy", first towards the population of the autonomous city and second towards the migrants.

She expressed this opinion in statements sent, after the interview of the President of the Government on 'Cadena Ser' to also demand the need to organize the transfer to the Peninsula of unaccompanied minor migrants and attend to asylum seekers. Faced with Sánchez's words, the Sumar spokesperson said: "I think many things were missing. Criticism of Morocco for what happened was missing. Empathy with the people of Ceuta and migrants was missing, but above all, resolution paths were missing," Barbero highlighted.

Apart from this, the spokesperson did not stop there, as she also wanted to emphasize that they have the "obligation to guarantee human rights, the rights of migrants and those who present an asylum claim and, at the same time, take care of the population of Ceuta," Martínez Barbero concluded.

Pedro Sánchez defends his management

Pedro Sánchez defended this Monday before Aimar Bretos that the Government must face the migratory crisis in Ceuta based on verified information. "The Government of Spain has to act on data and on certain facts because certain accusations are made that seem to me to be very serious, dangerous and in some way also gratuitous," the president said during his interview on Hoy por Hoy on La SER.

Sánchez insisted that the investigation into what happened remains open. "We continue to investigate what happened," he affirmed, before explaining that the Executive works with the data and facts it knows so far. In this sense, he pointed to the spread of hoaxes and disinformation through social networks as one of the elements that preceded the massive entry of migrants.
