Tellado places "the corruption of the PSOE" at the center of the Popular Party's campaign: "The sewer is running in the elections"

Miguel Tellado has made it clear this Friday that corruption cases will occupy a central place in the PP's campaign for the November 29 elections. After the first meeting of the electoral committee in Génova, the popular general secretary has linked the investigations affecting the socialist environment with Pedro Sánchez's campaign team. "The sewer is present, because the sewer is running in the general elections on November 29," he stated.

His appearance occurred after Judge Santiago Pedraz has so far rejected the imputation of the PSOE as a legal entity in the Leire Díez case. The magistrate considers it premature to adopt that decision, in line with the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, while pending proceedings remain. Tellado has defended, despite this, the request presented by his party. "It is clear that we did well when we decided to request the imputation of the Socialist Party," he maintained.

Accusations reach the socialist campaign team

Feijóo's electoral manager has asked citizens to remember the investigations and convictions when they go to vote. "On Sánchez's ballot, Koldo and Ábalos go with him", he declared, before mentioning Leire Díez and Santos Cerdán. With this comparison, Tellado intends to transfer the wear and tear of the judicial cases to the socialist candidacy, even if the people mentioned are not part of that ballot.

He has also pointed to María Jesús Montero, at the head of the PSOE campaign, to whom he has attributed political responsibility for the appointment of an investigated SEPI president. He has also mentioned Cristina Narbona and the socialist manager, Ana Fuentes, linking them to the case. His intervention seeks to present the alleged irregularities as a problem of the organization, beyond the individual responsibilities investigated by the courts.

One of the toughest moments came when referring to the alleged maneuvers against Beatriz Biedma, the judge who investigated the president's brother. "Who gave the order to go after Judge Biedma?" he asked. Tellado went so far as to state that "Sánchez pointed and the sewer executed" and to maintain that the Rochos clan had "more scruples than the Sánchez clan."

The investigation includes Cintia Rocho's testimony before the UCO, which attributes to former judge José Luis Sáenz de Tejada the intention of causing physical harm to Biedma. Investigators are examining his relationship with Leire Díez's group and the actions against the magistrate. This testimony must be distinguished from Tellado's accusation against Sánchez, whose direct responsibility the popular leader affirmed in his speech.

Housing and judicial cases in the pre-campaign

Génova will combine these attacks with its proposals on housing, taxation, and social policy. Tellado has announced that the PP will demand a housing block with a special weight in the electoral debates. The strategy seeks to dispute with the PSOE the main issue of the pre-campaign and, at the same time, keep the judicial investigations in the discussion about the continuity of the Government.

The popular secretary general has also reiterated his confidence in Correos workers and his distrust of the executives. To justify it, he cited the judicial situation of Juan Manuel Serrano, former president of the public company, and Leire Díez. The investigations mentioned do not in themselves prove irregularities in postal voting, although Tellado has used them to support his suspicions.

The possible pardon for Álvaro García Ortiz has appeared as another front of confrontation. Félix Bolaños explained this Friday that the Government is studying the file, without confirming that it will resolve it before the elections. In an interview on 'RAC1', the Minister of Justice indicated that the request is on the table. "We will see if it is appropriate to make a decision these days or if it is appropriate to leave it for later," he stated.
