The PSOE distances itself from the Popular Party in the latest barometer from the Center for Sociological Research (CIS). The survey gives the socialists an estimated vote of 33% and places the PP 7.9 points away, after the popular party loses two points compared to the June barometer.
The poll, based on 4,020 interviews conducted between July 1 and 6, reflects a 1.7 point improvement for the PSOE compared to the previous survey. In contrast, Vox loses half a point in vote estimation. The other forces also register slight movements. Sumar drops three tenths and stands at 6.1%, while ERC improves eight tenths to reach 2.7%. For its part, Se Acabó la Fiesta surpasses Podemos by achieving 2.6%, one tenth more than the purple party.
In the leader evaluation, Pedro Sánchez once again tops the ranking with an average score of 4.25, followed by Yolanda Díaz (4), Alberto Núñez Feijóo (3.64) and Santiago Abascal (2.96). In addition, the Prime Minister is the preferred choice to continue leading the Executive for 40% of respondents who express an opinion, compared to 20.8% who opt for Feijóo.
The preparation of the barometer coincided with several events of political and judicial relevance for the Executive. During those days, the indictment of the Director General of the Civil Guard, Mercedes González, in the framework of the 'Leire Díez case' came to light. The poll was also conducted after the conviction of former minister José Luis Ábalos and new judicial actions related to former president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and Begoña Gómez, the Prime Minister's wife.
