The Government has once again distanced itself from the leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, whom it accuses of not having a defined regional financing model. From the PSOE, they assure that this lack of proposal responds to a clear reason: "He is not going to govern," according to the secretary of Social Policies, Seniors, and Social Movements of the party and Minister of Education, Vocational Training, and Sport, Milagros Tolón.

In this context, the socialist leader and government minister has thus dismissed the meeting scheduled for this Sunday in Zaragoza between the regional presidents of the PP. Specifically, she has downplayed its importance, considering that it will not provide concrete solutions to the debate on the financing of the autonomous communities. Not only that. In her speech, she defended that the Executive has indeed put a "common" regional financing model on the table, designed so that "no territory loses and all gain," and insisted that it does not contemplate "privileges or special treatment," that is, comparative grievances that are indeed perceived by the PP.

According to the minister, the Government's proposal is based on expanding rights, strengthening equal opportunities, and improving redistribution and solidarity among the different territories of the State. In this context, the minister of Sánchez's Executive has challenged the Popular Party to present a concrete and detailed alternative, with clear figures and applicable to all autonomous communities. “What we expect is a serious proposal, with numbers, that explains how public services would be financed in all communities,” Tolón emphasized, underscoring that, until now, the PP has not presented a defined approach on one of the key issues of the territorial debate in Spain.
