King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, who are in Athens for the funeral and burial of Princess Irene of Greece, are scheduled to travel to Adamuz (Córdoba) to inquire about the situation following the serious train accident that occurred this Sunday in the town

The Head of State has explained that since Sunday night he has maintained permanent contact with the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and with the President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, with the aim of knowing the evolution of the accident firsthand. “As soon as we finish as soon as possible, we will return, of course, and be attentive and possibly prepare some presence in the area,” he stated. Felipe VI and Queen Letizia have indicated that they are analyzing the most appropriate way to travel to the affected area in Adamuz.

Felipe VI has also expressed his concern about the magnitude of the event and the situation of the victims and their families. "I understand the desperation of the families and the number of injured who have suffered this accident. We are all truly concerned," he stated.
