The National Police launched an operation this Friday against the far-right neo-Nazi group Núcleo Nacional, within the framework of which it has made several arrests in different provinces, as confirmed to Europa Press by sources in the case.

For the moment, the operation leaves at least twelve detainees, although the proceedings, coordinated by the General Information Commissioner (CGI), remain open, so new actions are not ruled out in the coming hours.

Previous incidents linked to the group

The operation is being carried out after various incidents related to this far-right organization, including a protest in which several students reported having been assaulted by members of this radical group in Gijón.

According to information gathered in previous investigations, Núcleo Nacional already has several inquiries for alleged hate crimes and public disorder, after starring in concentrations and altercations in cities such as Madrid and Seville.

Protests and social mobilization

The group has also called several protests with the intention of capitalizing on the social unrest generated after the Ceuta crisis, following the entry of thousands of migrants at the end of July, a context that had already placed this organization under the spotlight of security forces.

Vito Quiles' bodyguard arrested

One of the men who accompanied the ultra agitator Vito Quiles as his bodyguard in his public acts was arrested last September in Romania for his alleged involvement in cocaine trafficking. The investigated individual, identified by the initials I. A. L., was remanded in provisional prison by order of a Romanian judge after a joint operation by the Civil Guard and the country's Police.

The arrested man is the one who carried Quiles on his shoulders during his visit to the University of Granada on October 22, 2025. That image, with the ultra agitator waving a Spanish flag before the protesters against his presence, was widely disseminated on social media.
