The Police appeared this Wednesday at the headquarters of EDA TV, the channel of ultra Javier Negre where Vito Quiles collaborates, to arrest the ultra agitator after a search and arrest warrant. The agents went to the newsroom located on Lagasca street in Madrid, but Quiles was not there at that moment.

The order comes after the so-called "pseudojournalist" has disregarded court summonses and while accumulating several open procedures. For now, it has not been revealed from which specific cause the police measure stems. His lawyer, Juan Gonzalo Ospina, has confirmed the action and has stated that he does not know the exact origin of the order, although he maintains that Quiles has appeared in different courts.

Quiles reacted immediately on X with a message directed against the Government. He accused Pedro Sánchez's circle of promoting a "campaign of massive complaints" after his meeting with Begoña Gómez and presented the court order as political persecution. "The Government uses justice to persecute its rivals without reason," he wrote before closing with a defiant and ironic "Not one step back."

The tone of the message follows the usual pattern of the ultra agitator: turning every judicial or institutional front into an offensive against Moncloa. This time, however, the scene did not take place in a Congress hallway or in a protest organized for his networks. It was police officers going to the headquarters of the channel where he works to try to arrest him by court order.

Five cases and a withdrawn accreditation in Congress

Quiles's legal situation involves several fronts. He is being prosecuted for an alleged hate crime against a person with disabilities who participated in a protest against Isabel Díaz Ayuso. In that procedure, the Prosecutor's Office is asking for two years in prison and five years of disqualification from practicing journalism.

He is also being prosecuted for alleged crimes of revealing secrets and harassment against Beatriz Corredor, president of Red Eléctrica, after disseminating data of her home and photographs of the property on social media after the blackout of April 28, 2025.

To these causes is added the procedure opened in Seville for alleged insults and slanders against Rubén Sánchez, general secretary of Facua. In that case, the private prosecution asks for nine years in prison for three continuous crimes of slander with the aggravating circumstance of ideological hatred, in addition to compensation and temporary disqualification from activities linked to journalism. Rubén Sánchez himself clarified this Wednesday that the arrest warrant does not come from his case.

Quiles has also had archived cases. Begoña Gómez's complaint for an incident in a restaurant was archived in May, as was the complaint for alleged harassment and injuries to analyst Sarah Santaolalla at the doors of the Senate. These archives have not stopped the rest of the procedures or the accumulation of judicial fronts around the agitator.

Congress already withdrew his press accreditation for three months for recording and disseminating unauthorized images of former president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero in a restricted area of the Chamber. He was also subsequently prevented from accessing as a guest of Vox along with Bertrand Ndongo, after several altercations and open files for his behavior in parliament.
