The Partido Popular has registered a non-legislative motion in the Congress to demand that the Government implement a comprehensive security plan aimed at combating drug trafficking and organized crime on the coasts of Andalusia and Murcia. The initiative proposes urgently reinforcing the resources of the Guardia Civil and the rest of the State Security Forces and Corps in view of the increase in the activity of criminal networks on the southern Spanish coast.

The proposal includes the incorporation of new technological and operational means, such as coastal radars, surveillance drones, container scanners, high-speed vessels, helicopters, maritime patrol aircraft, and artificial intelligence systems to improve the detection and pursuit of organizations dedicated to drug and human trafficking.

In addition, the popular party members request the creation of a specialized coordination unit against drug trafficking inspired by the OCON-Sur model, whose work they consider fundamental in the fight against these illicit activities. They also ask for priority actions in the most affected provinces and measures to eradicate the so-called 'petaqueo', linked to the supply of fuel to narco-boats.

At the European level, the PP urges the Executive to promote greater international cooperation against these criminal networks, strengthening collaboration between community agencies. The initiative advocates for increasing resources allocated to Frontex operations in Spain, enhancing the role of Europol, and improving information exchange between the different security agencies.

The parliamentary group justifies these measures by the increase in the presence of international mafias on the Andalusian and Murcian coasts, where, it denounces, narco-boats operate with increasing logistical and technological capacity. Likewise, it demands to toughen the criminal response against these organizations, declare areas of special singularity in the most affected territories, and advance in the professional and salary recognition of the agents in charge of combating this threat.
