The Popular Party has decided to intensify its political offensive in the Senate with new appearances in the investigation committee on the Adamuz accident. Among those summoned are the current Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, his predecessor, José Luis Ábalos, his former advisor Koldo García and the also former minister Raquel Sánchez.
The popular party considers that the explanations given so far are insufficient and seek to clarify the role played by the different political officials in relation to contracts under suspicion. From the PP, they insist that the commission must serve to “purge political responsibilities” and shed light on the use of public resources. Óscar Puente's summons also seeks to know what measures have been adopted since his arrival at the ministry and if the inherited procedures have been reviewed.
For its part, the inclusion of Raquel Sánchez in the list of those summoned to appear points to a will to analyze the entire period after Ábalos, thus expanding the temporal scope of the investigation. In this way, the figure of Koldo García acquires special relevance, having been an advisor to Ábalos and being linked to various reports about possible irregularities.
