The PP requests the urgent convocation of the Permanent Deputation to demand explanations from Sánchez and four ministers for the Ceuta crisis

The Popular Party has requested in Congress the urgent convocation of the Permanent Deputation for the Ministers of Interior, Defense, Foreign Affairs, and Presidency to appear with the aim of providing explanations on the management of the migratory crisis in Ceuta. In addition, the party has reiterated its request to hold an extraordinary plenary session with the appearance of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, an initiative it already registered on July 31 and which it considers necessary due to the magnitude of the situation.

The popular party members maintain that the Executive must be accountable for the response offered after the irregular entry of tens of thousands of immigrants into the autonomous city, an episode that, according to the PP, has caused around 150 deaths. In this context, they criticize that the Government has faced the crisis "disregarding" the situation and censure that Pedro Sánchez continues on vacation at the official residence of La Mareta while, in their opinion, Spain is going through one of the biggest security and immigration crises of recent years.

Specifically, the PP demands the appearance of the Minister of Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, to report on the actions of his department in terms of citizen security, immigration management, and direction of the State Security Forces and Corps, as well as the measures planned to prevent a massive entry of immigrants from happening again.

The initiative also requests that the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, explain the mission carried out by the Armed Forces during the crisis; that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, report on the Government's diplomatic actions and the international consequences of the crisis; and that the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, report on the actions developed by his department in support of the President of the Government during this situation.
