The PP states that "nothing was done to stop the invasion" in Ceuta despite having "information" from the CNI: "The only solution is return"

The Popular Party has maintained this Thursday its critical discourse on the management of the Government of Pedro Sánchez in the Ceuta crisis after the massive entry of people between July 30 and 31. In this regard, after the first appearance this morning in the Congress of Deputies by the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, in her turn to reply, PP deputy Cuca Gamarra defended that the Executive possessed prior information from the National Intelligence Center (CNI) and that the "only solution is return." 

Gamarra began her criticisms by reproaching: "You began your intervention without apologizing to the people of Ceuta." Subsequently, she asked: "How many agents were there that day protecting the Spanish border?" 

"The question is why we cannot assume that having the information they had, from the CNI, Civil Guard, that of Vivas himself, they did not want to act. What they wanted to highlight was the weakness of the Spanish Government. The State is strong, the problem is the Government, which does not take the lead, which does not give instructions, which does not give guidelines for the State to act," she stated.

"Restore freedom to the people of Ceuta, that is the first thing you have to achieve," the 'popular' deputy argued to the minister. "To do this, you have to commit that the only solution is the return of the thousands and thousands of assailants who remain in Ceuta. They have to return to Morocco, there can be no reward for those who were part of an avalanche to invade our country," she concluded in her speech in her turn in the Lower House. 

In the same vein, the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, spoke through his social networks and in response to the latest information about a group of migrants who assaulted a group of soldiers this Thursday. In this regard, Feijóo expressed: "The people of Ceuta have been enduring alone for a month what does not correspond to them. Nothing was done to prevent the invasion of July 30 and nothing is being done to stop the public order crisis that worsens every day." 

"Tonight's aggression against soldiers is further proof that the situation is escalating and unsustainable, and that without means, clear orders, and an adequate legal framework, those who protect Ceuta cannot work. What is the Government waiting for? For a tragedy to occur? Or worse, to politically exploit it?" he concluded in the text he published on his X account.

PNV, Junts and Vox raise their criticisms 

In the reply turn of the rest of the parliamentary groups, they have raised the tone criticizing the management of the Executive of Pedro Sánchez. In this sense, the first to do so has been the PNV deputy Mikel Legarda, who has expressed the "inaction" of the Government in the face of the massive entry of people through the border with Morocco between July 30 and 31. However, he has admitted that "since day 25, it does seem to become aware of the seriousness of the situation." For the party, "the Government did not properly dimension what was happening" and consequently, this will cause "a perception in Spanish society that will have political repercussions in social consciousness." "The question is inevitable: where has the State been?"

Subsequently, the floor was given to Junts deputy Josep Pagès who stated: "What your Government has shown is that you are incapable of managing borders and migratory flows. You have shown that you act out of political interests." "Catalans are not going to pay for the Government's incompetence," the Catalan continued. 

"They said it was the mafias and it wasn't true. The question any citizen asks is: what does Morocco know about you, where do they have you held? There is no other possible explanation. A government that has been subjected to hybrid threats and does not protest, that means something is happening here," concluded the Junts representative present at the minister's appearance. 

The far-right party Vox has taken the same stance. Thus, Vox parliamentary spokesperson, Pepa Millán, who has defended that the Government has left "the people of Ceuta sold out against an army of armed men." "You blame everyone for the invasion except Morocco and your incapacity," she reproached.
