The Prosecutor's Office brings ultra Alberto Pugilato to justice for his attacks against Héctor de Miguel, Sarah Santaolalla and Elena Reinés

The Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Valladolid has brought to the attention of the courts the messages disseminated by Alberto Gonzalo de Juan, known on social media as Alberto Pugilato, considering that they could constitute a crime related to the exercise of fundamental rights. Among the people singled out in his publications are comedian Héctor de Miguel, political analyst Sarah Santaolalla, and journalist Elena Reinés.

The procedure stems from a private complaint that compiles 47 publications disseminated by Pugilato across his X profiles and his YouTube channel. The document argues that the content maintained a continuous dynamic of targeting and calls for harassment, intimidation, and violence against certain individuals and groups due to their political ideas.

In a decree dated July 31, the Prosecutor's Office considers that the facts could fall under article 510.1 a) and b), in their corresponding sections, of the Penal Code. The complaint has been transferred to Investigating Court number 5 of the Court of First Instance of Valladolid, which had already opened preliminary proceedings for other messages attributed to the same individual.

The new judicial action joins another procedure related to publications in which Pugilato linked homosexuality with pedophilia and child sexual abuse. The ultra also has a conviction from the Supreme Court: in 2021, he was sentenced to one year in prison for a hate crime related to the lyrics of his musical group, considered expressions of a supremacist nature against the immigrant population.

Messages directed against Héctor de Miguel

One of the episodes collected by the Prosecutor's Office affects Héctor de Miguel. In January 2026, Pugilato published a message encouraging people to attend the show Hora Treintaypico, in which De Miguel and other comedians participated, to "give them a couple of claps as they deserve."

In another content disseminated that same month, he presented the comedian as a "political enemy" and linked his performances to the Adamuz railway tragedy. In that context, he stated that it would be "understandable" for victims' relatives to attend the show to "applaud him" and even raised the possibility of personally driving to the performance venue.

Subsequently, Pugilato publicly celebrated De Miguel's temporary withdrawal and the cancellation of his tour, attributing part of the pressure the comedian had received to himself. "What am I doing on TVE making all these people cry hahaha. Apreteu [press] that it works," he wrote then. In another publication he insisted: "Wonderful to see them cry like this. Apreteu."

The targeting of Sarah Santaolalla

Sarah Santaolalla also appears among the people mentioned in the analyzed content. In one of his videos, Pugilato used derogatory expressions against the analyst and assured that, when the left left the Government, people like her "will have to hide."

The agitator also reacted to a report by Mañaneros 360 about the harassment that various public figures linked to progressive positions were suffering. "We've done it, guys," he stated, before assuring that he was "enjoying" the situation and maintaining that "that's what pisses them off and what they fear" those people.

The case of Elena Reinés

Journalist Elena Reinés was also the subject of several messages. On January 26, Pugilato wrote "Apreteu, that it works" in reference to a video in which Reinés explained that she was suffering insults, harassment, and serious threats, some of them death threats, for her political opinions.

Hours later, the journalist announced that she was temporarily withdrawing from public activity due to the pressure she was enduring. Pugilato responded to the announcement with another message in which he wrote: "Another one who leaves like a victimizing rat. Apreteu guys." He later returned to the matter on his YouTube channel and assured that the strategy "works, oh yes it works."

The Prosecutor's Office considers that all these publications should be investigated for their possible criminal relevance. The procedure is now in the hands of the courts, which must determine whether the reported facts finally constitute any crime and the eventual responsibilities that may arise.
