The Socialist Party of the Valencian Country (PSPV) has filed a complaint before the Supreme Court against the former president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, to whom it attributes an alleged crime of false testimony in his appearance before the investigation commission on the management of the DANA in the Congress of Deputies.

The socialist party maintains that there are contradictions between the explanations offered by Mazón in parliament, the investigation opened by the Catarroja (Valencia) court and various internal messages from the Valencian Executive during the October 2024 emergency. Specifically, the PSPV points to communications from the Consell's WhatsApp group which, according to their version, would reflect that at 8:15 a.m. on the day of the emergency the former president "already knew what was happening" and would have given instructions to the rest of the members of the Valencian Government.

Added to this is a report attributed to the then Minister of Justice and Interior, Salomé Pradas, which described a situation of special gravity during the catastrophe: suspension of classes in dozens of municipalities, closed roads, interruptions in Metrovalencia, closure of ports, rescues of trapped people and high pluviometric records. Despite this report, the PSPV insists that Mazón defended in Congress the existence of an "information blackout" and assured not having had sufficient information during the management of the emergency.

The complaint also questions the list of calls provided by the former president in the Les Corts Valencianes commission, to which it attributes possible inconsistencies and omissions between registered contacts and others that, according to the socialists, would not appear in the document despite having occurred. In the document, the socialists assure that there are "solid, plural and convergent indications" that would justify the opening of proceedings by the High Court, as it is an appearance subject to a legal obligation of veracity.

The PSPV also adds that Mazón would have failed to tell the truth by "deliberately concealing that it is the Government of Spain who has fully assumed the financing of the works of repair, restitution or reconstruction of infrastructures"
