Vox has registered in the Madrid Assembly a motion in which it asks to explore measures to limit non-resident foreign demand when, it argues, it contributes to the increase in housing prices and makes it difficult for Spaniards to access a property.
According to the party in a statement, the proposal focuses on measures to "facilitate access to housing for Spaniards", and recovers several of the requests that the party has repeatedly defended in the regional Chamber.
Among them, Vox once again demands "national priority" in any housing aid or in access to public properties, a measure that the party places at the center of its approach to residential policy.
Differentiated taxation for non-EU buyers
The motion also proposes differentiated taxation for non-EU buyers in view of the massive acquisition of housing by foreign capital, and proposes to allocate the revenue obtained to tax bonuses and exemptions for Spaniards.
Along the same lines, the party proposes that the acquisition of the first habitual residence by Spaniards be free of tax burdens, whether it is a new or second-hand home.
Tax review, more housing and less bureaucracy
The initiative also calls for a review of municipal and regional fees and taxes linked to the construction process, with the aim of eliminating or subsidizing those that "increase the final price of properties".
In addition, Vox insists on the construction of more housing, the streamlining of bureaucracy and the importance of public-private collaboration to expand the residential offer.
Incentives for rent and purchase
The proposal also includes tax incentives for long-term and affordable rental, for home purchase and access to mortgage financing, as well as significant deductions in IRPF for young tenants.
