La Séptima is about to arrive on free-to-air television. The new channel promoted by José Miguel Contreras and editorially directed by Javier Ruiz will begin its live programming on Thursday, November 5 at 12:00 p.m., with a focus on current affairs, debate, and entertainment.
Its premiere coincides with a reorganization of DTT that will affect several channels. Therefore, although La Séptima may appear automatically on some televisions where Atreseries is now seen, the most advisable thing to find it and check that all channels are there is to do a new channel search.
Rescanning can be done starting at 08:00 on November 5, before the start of La Séptima's live programming. The channel will be free and will be received via the DTT antenna, without the need to subscribe to a paid platform.
How to find La Séptima on your TV
The search is done from the TV remote control or, if one is used, from the external DTT receiver. Menu names may vary by brand, but the usual steps are these:
- Press the "Menu", "Home" or "Settings" button on the remote control.
- Go to the "Channels", "Broadcast", "Installation" or "Tuning" section.
- Select "Automatic search" or "Automatic tuning". If the TV asks how it receives the signal, choose the antenna or DTT option.
- Wait for the search to finish, save the channels found and check that La Séptima appears.
- If the list has changed order, you can rearrange each channel to your preferred position, including La Séptima at number 7.
The new channel will occupy the technical space currently used by Atreseries, although this does not guarantee that all televisions will place it on the same remote control number. The order of the list depends on each device and how the user has configured it.
The reorganization also affects Atreseries, BeMad and DKISS, which will change technical location. Clan and Boing are also among the channels that might need a new search to continue being seen correctly. These channels continue to broadcast; if any stops appearing in its usual position, it is advisable to rescan.
The Government explains that, under normal conditions, it is enough to perform an automatic search and it is not necessary to modify the antenna or the community installation. If after completing the process some channel is still missing, you can consult with the neighborhood community, the property administrator, or an installation company.
Those who receive television through a pay platform do not have to retune DTT due to these changes. The availability and position of La Séptima on each platform will depend on its offer, so it is advisable to consult with the operator.
The reorganization will also allow new broadcasts in ultra high definition. To watch these UHD signals, a receiver compatible with DVB-T2 and HEVC will be needed. La Séptima will start in HD through the current DTT, so it will not be necessary to have a 4K television to watch it.
