The 29th edition of the Málaga Festival has announced that the actress Rossy de Palma will be awarded the Málaga – SUR Award, a recognition of her extensive and outstanding career in national and international cinema. The festival, which will be held in the Málaga capital from March 6 to 15, 2026, will pay tribute to the performer considered one of the great figures of Spanish cinematography.
Rossy de Palma, a regular collaborator of director Pedro Almodóvar and known for her versatility and unique screen presence, has worked with renowned filmmakers such as Robert Altman, Mike Figgis, Patrice Leconte, Terry Gilliam and Karim Dridi. Her career has been recognized at international festivals, including an award for Best Actress at the Locarno Film Festival.
The actress will be present at the event with her new film, Day of the Hunt, directed by Pedro Aguilera and screened in the Official Section out of competition. The film, which features a cast led by Carmen Machi, Blanca Portillo, and Zoé Arnao, revisits Carlos Saura's classic *The Hunt* and will premiere in Spanish theaters on June 5.
The Málaga Festival, one of the most important events for Spanish-language cinema, has consolidated its role as a key event for the promotion of audiovisual, bringing together screenings, premieres, and tributes that celebrate both established figures and new voices in the film scene.
