The SGAE Foundation has announced a special program at the Berlanga Hall in Madrid featuring 32 of the films nominated for the 2026 Goya Awards. The initiative aims to bring the most relevant Spanish cinema productions to the public before the major awards ceremony. The screenings will be accompanied by talks and presentations in some cases, as well as screenings of restored classic films and special sessions dedicated to different cinematic genres, from January 23 to February 14

Among the projections are the big favorites, such as La cena by Manuel Gómez Pereira, a candidate for eight awards, Los domingos by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, with 13 nominations including best film, direction, and original screenplay, and Sirat by Oliver Laxe, nominated in 11 main categories. Also showing will be Maspalomas by Jose Mari Goenaga and Aitor Arregi, with 9 nominations, and Sorda by Eva Libertad, among other titles vying for awards for new director and adapted screenplay

The full lineup also offers a varied showcase of contemporary Spanish cinema, including Estrany riu by Jaume Claret, La furia by Gemma Blasco, Muy lejos by Gerard Oms, Balearic by Ion de Sosa, El cautivo by Alejandro Amenábar, Romería by Carla Simón, Tardes de soledad by Albert Serra, Mi amiga Eva by Cesc Gay, Una quinta portuguesa by Avelina Pra, and La buena letra by Celia Rico, among others.

Tickets will be available at a popular price of €3.50, making it easier for viewers to access a wide selection of films competing for the most important Spanish cinema awards this year.

The initiative is part of the Foundation's work to disseminate film culture and support the national audiovisual sector, and it joins other parallel activities scheduled for the awards season. Screenings at Sala Berlanga will allow the public to discover or rediscover titles that have marked the Spanish film season, generating anticipation for the Goya Awards ceremony, scheduled for February 28, in Barcelona.
