This Tuesday, various media outlets reported that the leader of the far-right, Santiago Abascal, had confirmed the request from the TVE program ‘La Revuelta’, presented by David Broncano, to interview all the candidates running in the November 29 elections.
However, the public channel's program did not confirm his attendance and, with their characteristic style, ironized about the "leak" of his visit. Thus, the first to speak was Grison, who, laughing and referring to the town where one of the audience members lived, stated: "When Abascal comes, ask him about La Laguna de Negrillos." "I've seen that he's coming."
To this, the presenter replied: "It has already been leaked everywhere. He's coming."
The conversation continued with Sergio Bezos, who intervened with a "Abascal is coming." From the sofa, one of the young women in the audience added another detail about the supposed visit: "He's coming on Monday, moreover, it has been leaked with the date and everything."
Broncano then turned to Ricardo Castella to ask if that information was true. His colleague prolonged the joke by asking if "the clothes the Vox leader would be wearing" were also known. In this vein, the presenter ended up speaking to avoid confirming the meeting, although he left the answer halfway: "Well, I'm not going to say anything yet because I don't think I can. I think more... well, I'm not going to say anything."
The matter reappeared minutes later, during the interview with Almudena Ariza. The journalist wanted to know which other political representatives would visit the theater and asked: "Who else is coming?" "The mixed paella ones have confirmed, Frente Amplio I think they are coming next week or the week after. And there are rumors that Santiago Abascal, the leader of Vox, might come," Broncano replied, still not confirming the presence of the far-right candidate.
The presenter took the opportunity to ask Ariza what she would ask Abascal. The correspondent pointed directly to the public radio and television: "About the plans he has for this house, for Spanish Radio and Television." Grison added that he would also ask him "if he is more racist or more sexist," a comment that provoked laughter from the audience.
The review of the invitations ended with Alberto Núñez Feijóo, the only candidate from whom, as the team recalled, they still had no news. Castella resorted to humor again: “I think we should start calling him Feijóooo”, he said, imitating a hen's cackle. “If he's the only one who doesn't want to come...”, they commented during the conversation.
